Our History

The Stanton-Davis Homestead Museum is the oldest house in Stonington, Connecticut. It was built by Thomas Stanton, one of the founders of Stonington, beginning in 1670 with additions made in 1720 and 1750.   Click on the link to see our story

Stonington Family History

Thomas Stanton arrived in Massachusetts around 1635 and subsequently made his way to Hartford. He learned the fur trading business and became conversant in the Algonquian language which led to important assignments by King Charles II as an interpreter
